HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER                                                                                                 2000-2011

An audio, video, lighting event/production and install Company, serving customers for 800 events and 100 installations yearly.

Accomplishments:

  • Built Human Resources department from ground floor, including management, benefits, policy and procedures, recruiting, onboarding and talent management, tracking performance, training, and HR marketing.
  • Negotiated and administered significant cost saving vendor contracts for health/dental/life insurance, property/casualty insurance, 401K and payroll administration.
  • Researched defined and developed 70 unique job descriptions and aligned with performance review system.

Management:

  • Directed all functional areas of Human Resources for up to 90 associates.

Benefits Management:

  • Managed and outsourced COBRA and Workers Compensation reducing costs and improving workers compensation experience rating.
  • Created and tracked paid-time-off (PTO) program, to provide a better staff work-life balance.
  • Implemented and directed BWC Drug Free Workplace to reduce on the job injuries, improve workplace safety and reduce BWC costs.

Policy & Procedures:

  • Developed and assisted in design of associate guidebooks and safety guidebook in conjunction with safety audit.
  • Led project to update trucking files, driver logs, and random drug-alcohol testing program into DOT compliance.

Recruiting, Onboarding and Talent Management:

  • Created and conducted exit interview process to identify trends and developed retention initiatives.
  • Designed and developed internal personnel database system to expedite contract requirements.

Performance Evaluations:

  • Developed, maintained, monitored performance review database, process and management reporting.

Training:

  • Scheduled all workplace education and safety training; maintained training and certification documentation.
  • Advised supervisors on implementation of performance improvement process with associates.
  • Assisted in developing and designing CDL pre-trip truck-driver training DVD to shorten training and staff licensing.

HR Advertising/Marketing:

  • Designed created and monitored content for intranet, creating resource of associates, including access to online active schedules.
  • Launched branded careers web page and developed associate testimony videos to drive traffic and reduce paid job postings.

Volunteer member for 501 (c) 3 non-profit educational organization whose mission is to create, enhance and preserve mountain biking trail experiences in the central Ohio region. Responsibility included; logo-website creation, volunteer trail building and management, trail access proposal development and presentations, founding member of Ohio Trail Partnership (OTP) that included trail access for hikers, bikers and horses, attended meetings and met with Ohio Department of Natural Resources, created grassroots advocacy/marketing and innovative trail management solutions.
