President and CEO of RoadMasters Holdings, a national construction and transportation company, Mark Biersmith ascended to the position seven years ago from a series of other executive posts in the conglomerate. In a single year as CEO, Mark Biersmith raised profits 120 percent while cutting operating costs by more than 17 percent. His past executive experience prepared him to handle profit-and-loss duties, which resulted in record revenues and a tripling of profits. Mark Biersmith also raised $20 million to meet FEMA contracts in response to hurricanes Rita and Katrina. A Certified Public Accountant, Certified Computing Professional, Certified Management Accountant, and holder of Master of Business Administration degrees and certifications, Mr. Biersmith has sole proprietorship of a public accountancy practice and regularly serves as an expert witness on issues of finance, accounting, and mergers and acquisitions. He has participated in successful presentations and appeals before the credit ratings agencies Moody's and Standard & Poor's.Prior to joining RoadMasters Holdings, Mark Biersmith served as Chief Financial Officer for four different companies and Vice President for Corporate Development or General Manager for three. He led three companies out of near-bankruptcy and successfully executed three consolidation plays, one each in the manufacturing, media, and music industries. Mark Biersmith performed 58 corporate acquisitions, closed financing for projects worth in excess of $3 billion, successfully directed two public offerings, corrected covenant violations, and managed financial reporting and SEC/NASD audits for 17 different entities. His experience with SEC compliance encompasses International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), training in Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and familiarity with XBRL (eXtensive Business Reporting Language). The Institute of Management Accountants asked Mark Biersmith to write a portion of the national CPA exam as well as grade it. His varied career includes an acting role in a national television series, a request for an interview from CNNMoney.com, modeling in a national retail catalogue, and two invitations to dine with the President in Washington. Mark Biersmith earned his Bachelor's in Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science from Marquette University and his MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
