National Congress is the peak elected representative body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.Congress advocates self-determination for Australia's First Peoples, and believes that families, communities and organisations must be at the forefront of policy decisions made by federal, state and territory governments.

As Director, Corporate Partnerships I have primary responsibility for the development and implementation of external engagement strategy to a broad range of corporate and philanthropic stakeholders, and conducting an active 'grants program.

I am a member of the Executive Committee which is charged with design, direction and implementation of all operational matters including but not limited to; advocacy with federal and state parliaments, media, fundraising, project development and implementation, and community engagement.

I am responsible for;

  • Conducting operational due-diligence on fund managers and recommending capability improvements.
  • Developing an appropriate strategy and narrative which identifies and delivers meaningful dialogue with increasingly 'time-poor' asset consultants and institutional investment professionals.

In my capacity with PFCP I developed successful positioning, engagement, communications, and sales strategies for domestic and international multi asset managers.

I held primary responsibility for representing variously the investment capabilities of a portfolio of fund managers including; Fairview Equity Partners, AREA Property Partners, Northward Capital, and Presima Inc.

I was responsible for;

  • Developing institutional and consultant client engagement strategies focused on the award of investment mandates,
  • Developing an effective and continuous investor relations programme, 
  • Successfully negotiating terms for individual institutional investment mandates of greater that A$100m each,
  • Ensuring various critical internal and external business teams worked collaboratively to meet contract milestones.

I was responsible for divisional operations including staff, commercial operations, marketing and contract negotiations  in Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania. I had 4 direct reports and responsibility for a staff of 23 people.

Additionally as a member of the Executive Committee I was involved in media relations, corporate communication, strategy and financial oversight. I was tasked with responsibility for successfully negotiating contracts with clients such as Boral, Penrice, Consolidated Minerals and Pioneer amongst others. I also successfully lead contract negotiations in China for the manufacture and delivery of explosives and explosive precursors.

Manager, Wellington NZ. I was promoted and transferred to NZ to restructure and return to profitability the NZ business which had languished over a protracted period. I had responsibility for increasing visibility, efficiency and profitability of the business. In addition to engaging with key stakeholders, both internal and external in order to redefine the operation I was responsible for media relations including print and television campaigns, interviews and appearances.

As the Corporate Relations Officer for ASX I was deeply involved in the development and execution of a multi-layered corporate communications and investor relations strategy targeting listed companies, member organizations, other regulatory bodies, federal and state governments, institutional investors and print and electronic media.

 Director and Company Secretary, Dalai Lama in Australia Ltd. (2016 - Present).

Dalai Lama in Australia Ltd. (DLIA) is a Not-for-Profit organisation which is responsible for organizing His Holiness the Dalai Lama's visits to Australia.

As a non-executive director of the board I have joint responsibility for planning, fund raising and implementing His Holiness's Australian visits. Additional and ongoing responsibilities include; developing and nurturing government, corporate and community relationships and support.

Director, Volunteering Australia (November 2018 - Present).

Volunteering Australia is the national peak body for volunteering, working to advance volunteering in the Australian community.

As an elected Independent Director I have joint responsibility for developing implementable growth strategies which seek to build revenue, participation and expand the reach and influence of the organisation. Additionally, I sit on the Compliance and Finance Committee, and assist the CEO with government engagement and advocacy.

Chairman,  ASD Learning Ltd. (March 2015 - June 2017).

ASD Learning is a not-for-profit company establishing dedicated schools in Queensland operating under the name The Sycamore School for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

As Chairman and foundation non-executive-director I together with my fellow board members was responsible for developing strategic direction. Additionally I headed the governance and compliance committee tasked with ensuring the company and its employees meet the high standards enshrined in legislation and also in the mission statement of the organisation.
