Dynamic and hard-working

After working 15 + years as a Vehicle technician / panel beater, the business is getting closed down and we are all being made redundant.

I’m a hard working, honest strong individual. I am a good timekeeper and am always looking to gain new skills. I am friendly, helpful, polite and have a good sense of humour. I am able to work independently in busy environments and also within a team setting. I am outgoing, tactful and able to listen effectively when solving problems and pay attention to detail.

I've been a vehicle technician for 15 years and gained many skills including experience of working to PAS 125 standards, a qualified welder, plus an attendee of Thatchams panel and Jig B11.

I have the responsibility to check that vehicles are safe and delivering work to a high quality, ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and on time so the customer receives the best level of customer service.

In regards to a Motorhome technician, I’ve worked on many Motorhomes during my career, I’ve changed side panels, cupboards, carpets , bumpers , front panels , doors, fault finding , towbar fitting. Plus filler repairs, plastic repairs to panels and bumpers.

In regards to servicing I’ve often changed brakes, oil, suspension, bottom arms, exhausts, raidiators, timing belts, air conditioning.

Best explained I do both mechanical and panel changing and repair. I have no gas experience, but would be very willing to go on courses for gas or electrical.

I'm accurate and used to working to tight deadlines within a fast paced environment.

I strongly believe that the skills and abilities I have gained during my career to date makes me an excellent candidate for this opportunity.

Plus I live in Gorslas, within walking distance away from your business.

Securico Ammanford

A temporary position, but one of responsibility and trust.  The main duties were processing large bags of valuables and money for onward distribution

Sean Barry and sons St Clears

Labourer. Working with Mr Barry was a great experience. I come from a building family but here I was able to extend my knowledge and abilities. Tasks included fitting kitchens and bathrooms  to building garages etc. At that time we worked timer frame which is a unique wooden sculpture composed of large wooden beams that lock together with wooden pegs to form the visible interior in which the wooden pegs act as a locking mechanism with the joints of the timbers. It was very hard and demanding work.  I learned and honed many skills such as plastering, rendering, carpentry, brickwork .

Commis Chef

Harbour heights -poole, Dorset

Working at Harbour heights was a temporary job for the period of time that I lived in Poole.  In many ways similar to working in the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, and an opportunity to gain further experience and further develop my skills. Being able to prioritise my work  to ensure that orders and deadlines were met and work as part of a team was essential.  Additionally it was necessary to meet and greet guests after they finished their meals, to answer any questions they had about the food and the beautiful area we were in. Working here increased my confidence meeting and interacting with people from all walks of life.

Oct 1998 - Oct 1999

Commis Chef

National Botanical Gardens of wales LLanarthney

Working at the National Gardens of Wales was an eye opener for me, as I had left a pub dining restaurant to a grander, larger working environment with many chefs form whom I could learn from.  There was a great emphasis on customer service and prioritising our own  work loads.

Nov 1997 - Oct 1998

Head Chef

Emlyn Arms LLanarthney

When I started in the kitchen I was shocked with how much needed to be done before each service. With this being a small family business, I had to learn fast and I had the added responsibility of administrative duties that would include the hiring and firing of staff, setting of staff rosters, maintaining records and checking that budget and standards were being adhered to. I had to learn about nutrition, food storage, portion control, inventory and purchasing  and create menus that were exciting and appealing.  I also learned how to handle and maintain kitchen equipment, proper knife technique and importantly health and safety and food hygiene. A very challenging position.

Feb 1996 - Nov 1997

Head Barman

Emlyn Arms LLanarthney

Head barman, I loved it. Yes, the work was hard, the hours unsociable and the pay was low but I met some really great people whom I am still in touch with today. A great experience, where customer service skills and team work were essential.

Sep 1997 - Sep 1999

Sep 1996 - Sep 1997

Sep 1990 - Sep 1996

I achieved an A-level in computer programming and I am able to use most microsoft office applications. Plus I fix and restore computers and laptops in my spare time for family and friends.

As for some of my technical skills, from the many jobs I've had especially working in kitchens under intense pressure I would lead others in high-demand situations to get the food to the tables on time and up to standard. plus the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and delegating tasks. Working at the accident repair centre is much the same supervising people, assembling equipment making sure each job is safe and up to standard and filling all documentation in correctly.

On a more personal level I am a social person who enjoys spending time with friends and family. A keen interest in the arts and an ability to read music and enjoy playing the guitar in my spare time.
