As the Training & Communications Director, my job duties and experience were diverse and comprehensive: Sales & Marketing Department:
Supervised creative team of 15 independent contractors, wrote advertorials, designed and produced media packs for events, hosted media at said events, worked directly with local media for product placement, wrote ad copy and press releases, attended Trade Shows to represent company and introduce new products to local and national media, worked with the in-house creative team as their marketing, writing and editing consultant, and appeared on QVC before a 13-million-viewer live national audience to present featured product.
Conducted and compiled market and client research, wrote and edited press releases on clients’ behalf and planned and executed promotional events for clients, including Utah Valley University, including serving as their media liaison. Maintained relationships with local media contacts.
Assisted Account Directors with all areas of account services. Helped in conception and production areas of campaign components. Managed project timelines and edited internal and external documents. Learned advertising principles and methods, conducted research and provided efficacy analyses to Account Managers. Developed client presentations with Account Managers.
Supervised the Research & Development lab including creating and testing new products, writing marketing material copy and technical descriptions on new products, maintaining inventory levels, working with outside vendors for product creation and delivery and served on the Management Advisory Board to the President. Supervised one full-time and 2 part-time Research & Development Assistants.
