Nursing Staffing Coordinator/Nursing Administration Manage the Labor Management process in the center based on established daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly routines to ensure employee and patient satisfaction. Maintains center coverage at all times. Reviews and tracks requests for time off. Coordinates scheduling changes with management. On a weekly basis, communicate open shifts to Staffing Services to fill temporary staffing needs that cannot be filled by center employees. Serving as liaison with Nursing Staff with respect to work schedules. Negotiate schedules balancing hospital unit staffing needs, employee schedule preferences, and financial performance. Personally respond to emergency situations and call-offs to ensure hospital unit coverage. Conduct daily meetings with all Unit Directors regarding clinical issues, patient care and any call-offs to ensure continuous quality patient care, safety and all policies and hospital guidelines have been followed by all nursing staff. Minimizes open positions and optimizes Nursing Staff schedules by performing Position Control Analysis in collaboration with Chief Nursing Officer. Communicates position control results-open positions-to identify unit staffing needs, specific unit shift need. Recruit and set up all clinical positions to be interviewed by Chief Nursing Officer. Maintains records of Nursing certifications/licensure to meet scheduling requirements. Reconciles Nursing weekly payroll, verify all punch's in and out, meal breaks, bonus and overtime shifts. Approve and complete all time errors and or missed punches, meeting all payroll cut-off for payroll and/or invoice processing. Conducts proactive daily, weekly, prior to payroll distribution reviews to minimize salary expense leakage. Understands Center pay practices and ensures appropriate utilization. Reviews timecards daily to ensure proper authorization of time adjustments and overtime. Reviews and resolves payroll report exceptions prior to payroll distribution. Maintains confidentiality with respect to all employee information including but not limited to schedule preferences, rates, and payroll. Orient new employees to Labor Management Policy, Procedure and supporting technology. Communicates Hospital expectations of the employee's role in optimizing their schedules to meet the Hospital needs.
