Systems Analyst / Administrator

The Reading Hospital and Medical Center

Member of the emergency department's administration staff, developing, supporting and maintaining systems, applications and end users.

  • Led a multi-functional task force to implement the Vocera communication system in the Emergency Department. This included technology staff, clinical and non-clinical staff, outside vendors.
  • Orchestrated the development of ancillary systems/processes related to the Vocera communication system. Included a web-based registration site for staff members to signup for training. As well as a device management system that tracked inventory of devices with existing employee id databases.
  • Set and met goal of 75% voice command recognition rate for the Vocera Communication system through work with the data communications and network systems teams.
  • Conducted regular training classes for both clinical and non-clinical staff for the use of the Vocera communication device. Classes sizes ranged from 1 - 15 students.
  • Coordinated a multi-functional group to implement the the GE Aware Gateway patient monitoring interface connecting the Picis ED Pulsecheck, the emergency department's information system (EDIS), with the bedside patient vital signs monitoring system providing current patient vital signs to the EDIS without the need for staff intervention.
  • Conducted training class for the use of the Tangier Physicians Scheduling application.
  • Developed and maintained reference webpages for emergency department staff linking them to important policies, procedures, protocols and other clinical reference material.
  • Provided end user support for Picis ED Pulsecheck, the emergency department information system (EDIS), as well as with the maintenance, troubleshooting and improvements to the system.
  • Provide primary response and intervention for end user computer issues, both hardware and software.

Systems Administrator

Technology Services Group

Member of the Sovereign Applications Group, a team dedicated to the technical support of Sovereign Bank's server-based applications. Maintained various server-based applications as well as managed numerous technology-based projects.

  • Developed and implemented processes for planning and conducting Business Resumption Plan testing for all business units within Sovereign Bank.
  • Managed the population and maintenance of Strohl Systems' LDRPS (Living Disaster Recovery Planning System) as central repository for all technical requirements of business resumption plans.
  • Supervised the development and population of SEARS (Sovereign Enterprise Application Repository), a specialized database of Sovereign Bank applications
  • Served as Business Unit Project Leader during Business Resumption Plan Testing.
  • Acted as project manager for third party vendor application disaster recovery testing, applications integration during 2006 bank acquisition and various technology projects including various software implementations and upgrades.
  • Selected as project liaison to the project services team, representing the server-based applications group and its interests.

Systems Analyst and member of a conversion team dedicated to support during Sovereign Bank's transition from a Novell Network Operating System to the Microsoft Windows NT Network Operating System. This company-wide shift presented an opportunity for my team to also heighten awareness of information security to end-users.

  • Performed in-depth analysis of user documents, applications and other data in preparation for migration into new operating environment.
  • Authored technical documentation for network engineers, to enable them to perform migration processes.
  • Led training classes with end-users to discuss file movement to the new directory structure and instructed them on issues of security awareness.
  • Established specific user groups to identify individuals' access needs.

Loan Data Analyst

Retail Credit Risk Management Group

Gathered data from a number of different resources, performed analyses and created critical reports on the bank's loan portfolio, particularly with regard to risk assessment.

  • Led an analysis of Sovereign Bank's lending portfolio for High Loan-to-Value Ratio Reporting as required by U.S. federal Office of Thrift Supervision bulletin TB72a.
  • Business Resumption Plan Officer for Retail Credit Risk Management Team responsible for coordinating, developing and maintaining a formal plan to guide the resumption of disrupted business activity.
  • Assisted with data mapping project for bank conversions.

Assistant Vice President / Product Manager

Electronic Banking Services / Global Cash Management Group

As Assistant VP and product manager of this critical, revenue-generating bank department, worked directly with vendors to develop new electronic banking products and services.

  • Managed suite of electronic banking products used by Sovereign Bank Cash Management sales department.
  • Led Electronic Banking project team through Sovereign's two largest acquisitions: CoreStates and Fleet BankBoston. This required me to develop and successfully execute a project plan, meet all timelines and maintain budget.
  • Enhanced, developed and implemented functionality of product set to provide progressive, signature products with proven success via increased customer base.
  • Selected third-party financial vendors to create strategic alliances and increase key corporate customers.

Additional responsibilities and accomplishments included:

  • Successfully converted more than 900 electronic banking product users, resulting in 95% retention rate.
  • Trained sales and support staff in core functionality of product suite.
  • Managed staff of 10, which entailed assisting in annual budget development; conducting interviews; hiring and terminating; performing reviews.
  • Supervision of onsite end-user training for corporate customers, software installation, transmission testing, and the development of service documentation for PC- and internet-based treasury management systems, ACH origination, controlled disbursement reporting, electronic data interchange reporting.
