Dr. ing. Marco Lisi is presently Chief Scientist at Telespazio SpA, a Finmeccanica/Thales company. Reporting directly to the company CEO, he is responsible for the management of knowledge, the coordination of technical activities and strategies, and for fostering innovation and best practices in all fields. As chairman of the Focus Group on Systems Engineering in the frame of the MindShare initiative, he is also managing the diffusion, across the Finmeccanica companies, of systems engineering culture and best practices, with special attention to Systems of Systems (SoS) and Network Centric Operations (NCO). Dr. Lisi has worked for twenty-eight years in the aerospace and telecommunications sectors, covering managerial positions in R&D, engineering and programs. During his professional career, he was directly involved in a number of major satellite programs: Italsat, Olympus, Artemis, Meteosat Operational, Meteosat Second Generation, Sicral 1A, Globalstar, Cosmo-Skymed, Galileo. He spent two periods of his professional life abroad: four years in the Netherlands as a Staff Member of the European Space Agency and three years at Palo Alto (California), working with Space Systems/ Loral on the Globalstar program. He is Senior Member of IEEE ( Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers ) and of AIAA ( American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics ), member of PMI ( Project Management Institute ), of INCOSE ( International Council on Systems Engineering , of ION ( Institute of Navigations ) and of ISPA ( International Society of Parametric Analysts ). He is member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Institute of Navigation (IIN) and was recently nominated Fellow Member of the British Interplanetary Society. Dr. Lisi holds three international patents (extended to EC countries and to the USA) and authored about one hundred and fifty technical papers and presentations. He also contributes to financial magazines with papers on management, social and economic topics.
