About  Marcelle Shoop

Marcelle Shoop has extensive experience in policy development, corporate social responsibility, sustainable development, as well as a range of environmental and social issues. She is an independent consultant and founder of MFSA Consulting LLC.

Previously, Ms. Shoop served in various roles within Rio Tinto, including principal advisor or external relations with Rio Tinto Diamonds where she focused on responsible supply chains in the jewelry sector. Earlier in her career at the company, Marcelle Shoop was director of sustainable development for Rio Tinto Kennecott Utah Copper, a copper mining and refining operation near Salt Lake City, and also provided legal counsel for the company on environmental, public lands, and natural resource matters.

Marcelle Shoop received a bachelor of science in business management and a juris doctor from the University of Wyoming. As part of her commitment to continuing education, she has taken a course on environmental economics at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and participated in a business leadership development program at Duke CE.
