Work experience

Associate Landscape Architect

Mitchell + Associates is a multidisciplinary design practice incorporating Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and Environmental Impact Assessment at its core. The practice was founded in 1988 and over the last 20 years has established itself as a leading design practice. It is involved in a wide range of project types, from local authority schemes to commercial and private projects.

I joined Mitchell+Associates back in August 2005 and have been involved in local authority, corporate, residential and educational landscape schemes.  During that period I have continued to gain experience over a wide spectrum of projects to gain an associate landscape architect position.

My responsibilities include being project landscape architect, liaising and coordinating with multi-disciplinary design team members, liaising with local authority departments, production of presentational, planning, tender and construction drawings and associated documentation. I have also been a member of an in-house team working on international design-competitions based in China, Riyadh and the UK.

(Hons) BSc Landscape Design & Ecology

University of Sheffield

The BSc (Hons)  in Landscape Architecture aims to educate Landscape Architects who have a more in-depth understanding of ecology and habitat creation. This course aims to combine a more detailed appreciation of ecological processes and how they work within the designed landscape. Through their specialist training in ecology graduates are able to assist in the restoration of degraded environments and also to understand the wider implications of design proposals on existing habitats.

This is a three year full time course that grants part 3 accreditation with the Landscape Institute.

I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2004. Since then I have worked in both England and Ireland and have been involved in the design & supervision of a range of projects, from both the public and private sectors.

I have been involved at all stages of the design process, from inception through to hand-over / delivering to site.  As a result I have gained much valued experience in a wide range of situations and in the coordination procedures with other professional disciplines, local authorities and clients.
