Former medical executive officer of Buenaventura Medical Group (BMG) and assistant area medical director for Southern California Permanente Medical Group, Manuel Marquez, MD, spent more than two decades working as a physician in California. Holding a degree from UCLA Medical School, he has a proven ability to lead. Manuel Marquez, MD, now strives to become a leader in his new profession as an ITMI-certified tour director. Possessing in-depth knowledge of more than 50 different cities and countries around the world, including New York City, Madrid, Germany, London, and Italy, Manuel Marquez, MD, has tour director and group leader experience along with cruise and familiarization tour experience. He is currently training to lead tours in the New England and Southern United States areas.
When he’s not sharing his knowledge of cities with others, Dr. Marquez enjoys a variety of hobbies. He is fond of music and reading and enjoys learning about history and geography. He is a wine enthusiast and enjoys eating a range of cuisines, from Spanish and Italian to Thai. Beyond his hobbies, Dr. Marquez is an active member of his community. He is the website editor for NativeFuture.org, a non-profit organization that support indigenous tribes in Panama, and financially supports KOCE television and KUSC radio. Additionally, he supports the Ventura Botanical Gardens organization and the Nature Conservancy.
