My creative business is partly creating and exhibiting my own work and sharing the feeling of freedom and capability that exploring creativity can provide through delivering "Curious Crafty Workshops" (community based ), carefully designed workshops, adapting materials and workshop content for a range of ages and abilities. .

Workshops specifically designed to encompass ideas from the current 'Never Going Underground' Exhibition, an exhibition celebrating 50 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality.
Artist led workshops for LGBT parents and their children, the activities are very varied. The workshops need to cater for children of a range of ages (the children are a very mixed group babies to teenagers) activities have included banner making, lantern making, giant flowers, ceramics, giant insects, weaving and puppet making, Chinese New year, LGBT History Month, Manchester Pride, Political Pride, Winter Festivals and bug houses amongst others.
Summer activities for 4 Sure Start Centres , encompassing outdoors activities, growing and healthy eating for under 5s and their families.
Workshops relating, to resources in Manchester Archives, Sports related imagery and pop-up books.
Providing activities with other group members for local women on a weekly basis at the Zion Community Resource Centre in Hulme. This is a weekly meet. Alongside other women in the group I am a director and administrator.
Exhibiting work as part of group exhibition - woodcut alphabet prints and handmade badges.
This project will begin in September, I had been awarded grant money to deliver 6 arts and craft sessions to parents with children under 5 years old. The sessions are to decrease feelings of Isolation and depression, provide an opportunity for parents to meet other parents and take part in some stress relieving crafts, at each session they will also be shown art activities they can do with their child.
Planned summer activities for Under 5s and their parents, each week a different themed session sessions include, weaving and yarnbombing - yarn bomb a tree at the centre, yarn bomb natural objects found in the environment, pine cones and twigs, babies under one -playing with ribbons and sticking yarn to objects, pressing woven materials into playdough. Modern art inspired recycling containers. Sea side inspired activities.
Summer activities based on world record breakers. Doing a series of art sessions called Cloth Donkey (celebrating the slightly absurd world records like the the tallest donkey and shortest donkey)Manchester Archives liked this idea as they have a donkey mascot. In the sessions i will be making pin the tail on the donkey games to take home.
with the facilitator from Proud2b parents we have received funding to deliver planned sessions to raise awareness of issues relating to Hate Crime directed at the LGBT community, highlighting what hate crime actually is. The information has to be age appropriate so we have planned sessions incorporating art activities to allow families to discuss issues in safety. I have planned all the activities and we are going to deliver the sessions with buddy organisations activities include- pansy planting, weaving and making a large banner emblazoned with the words love and kindness, the words will be made from photos of the people attending our sessions.
