About  Mahr Elder

Since 2005, Dr. Mahr Elder has served as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Novato Community Hospital and Kaiser Hospital in Novato, California, where he specializes in facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, dental implantology, and TMJ disorders. In addition to being board certified, Dr. Mahr Elder is also a fellow in the "California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Elder completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, California, eventually receiving a DDS from the UOP Dental School. He then earned his MD from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and went on to complete his residency as a participant in the University of Detroit/Henry Ford Hospital program.

In his more leisurely pursuits, Elder has enjoyed travels throughout Europe, Central America, South America, Africa, and the Middle East. He has also volunteered his surgical expertise in global relief efforts, participating in surgical missions to Ethiopia in 2004 and Mexico in 2005.
