Madelyn Tavarez

Android Mobile Development Student

After going through a rigorous selection process I was chosen as one of the 30, out of 600, applicants to become a member of AccessCode at Coalition for Queens, a project based mobile development program in New York City. I began my programming journey by learning Java and soon after dove into developing fully featured Android apps in the Android SDK from the ground upWorking closely with small teams has taught me the importance of teamwork through code reviews, pair programming, collaborative debugging and effective project management. I've also gained hands on experience with Git/Github, SQLite, JSON, multi-threading, RESTful APIs, object oriented programming, material design and third party APIs such as Picasso and Firebase.
