I am currently a senior at Drury University pursuing a degree in Public Relations and Advertising. I possess a strong work ethic, which causes me to take on many different responsibilities and activities. I am currently a member of DC Networks, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Gamma Sigma Alpha. At Drury University, I have received the honor of being on the Dean's List for exceptional grades. I take pride in my job, where I am currently a manager of Massage Envy in Springfield, MO. I started as a receptionist and have been promoted numerous times throughout my 3 years with the company. I had the opportunity to intern with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society last summer, where I learned many things about working for non-profits. I would love to have the opportunity to intern again before graduation in fields such as non-profits, advertising and public relations industries, or as a public relations intern for a sports team.

Work experience

Vice President of Recruitment

Drury University's Panhellenic Council

With this job I created, coordinated and promoted Sorority Life Recruitment where new members could meet current sorority members in a comfortable environment and ultimately pledge a chapter. I also conducted training sessions to prepare chapter and council leaders for Sorority Life Recruitment. I attended a national conference in St. Louis where I gave a presentation with the Director of Greek Life to over 200 women.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

During my internship at The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society I created press releases, assisted in sales of sponsorships and helped with designing promotional materials for two annual events for the organization. I also assisted in planning and executing the first annual Some Like it Hot Salsa Night fundraiser. By attending networking seminars to promote the organization I gained valuable networking experience. I organized and attended weekly meetings with Light the Night team captains and assembled more than 80 volunteers for two events.

I worked with a team to plan the first annual “Some Like it HotSalsa Night” which was a fundraiser for the organization. There were 500 people in attendance who had the opportunity to sample salsa from 25 different restaurants and vendors.Local bands and dance teams also provided entertainment for the volunteers and attendees. The event raised over $2,000 for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
