Holly entered Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in the fall of 2007 as a psychology major. After enrolling in her first nutrition course at IUP she spoke to her advisor about possible career paths.

Holly's strong determination to succeed as a student dietitian is demonstrated by her dedication to coursework and volunteer opportunities. She has achieved her place on the Dean's List 6 of 6 semesters and a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.93. Holly has participated in over 100 hours of community service from fall of 2008 to the present.

As an undergraduate, Holly participated in the Student Dietetic Association (SDA), Supplemental Instruction Program (S.I.), The College Undergraduate Success Program (CUSP), and Alpha Phi Omega, National Service Fraternity (APO). As an active member of the SDA for four semesters, she worked with her peers to increase her knowledge of food, nutrition, and community service. Student dietitians join together within SDA to develop long-lasting relationships. She has been a peer educator for three years, reviewing undergraduate coursework with students on campus. Alpha Phi Omega is a National Service Fraternity and is directly affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America and Camp Fire USA. Holly is currently the elected president 2010/2011 of the Mu Chi chapter of Alpha Phi Omega at IUP. As a professor's assistant during the CUSP program, fall 2009, Holly shared valuable knowledge with incoming students about academics, advising, and study strategies.

All professional interactions require proper communication skills, and active participation in extracurricular activities has prepared Holly to take leadership roles and to communicate effectively with others.
