I’m currently working in Los Angeles at KABC 7.  I’m a highly motivated, creative & technical video journalist.  I’ve worked in broadcast TV for more than a decade.  I am an excellent communicator through words and pictures and new media.  Working in the field with news and production I am an excellent troubleshooter and always find a way to make it work even when things go bad.

ENG/SNG Photographer


Working with & without reporters I shoot and edit daily news assignments, and operate microwave live trucks.  

I also operate digital Ku satellite trucks in SD/HD single and dual path configurations.  Frequently providing transmission for affiliates and coordinate multiple camera live remotes.  

I also work closely with our engineering staff to implement new technologies at the station.  Video over IP, remote site control and automation as well and planning new and innovative vehicles for news acquisition.

I serve as Engineer in Charge on live remote productions.  Sports post game shows, community parades, and debates are a few of the projects I have planned and managed.

High Definition Systems Trainer


I was responsible for developing a curriculum and training the staff on the use and implemetation of new HD cameras, edit systems, and HD remote trucks.

I created teaching materials (DVD video clips, Power Point, Hand out cards) to aid the staff at KABC in implementing the new equipment and helped with on going questions.

Training sessions lasted were one or two weeks of 1 on 2 instruction that included classroom and field instruction.

Digital Satellite Transmission Engineer

For many years I've been operating digital Ku trucks.  I am familiar with SD and HD transmission Mpeg 2 and 4 at varying bit rates.   Frequently run dual path uplinks, often one HD and one SD.  Most of my satellite work has been with ABC affiliates and ABC news.  I have also worked for Hearst stations, ESPN, and Harpo Productions.

Non-Linear Editor

I am proficient with Final Cut Pro and Grass Valley's Edius edit systems.  I have taught training classes on both systems and have hundreds of hours on each system.     In addition I am familiar with Photoshop, After Effects, Apple's Motion & Shake effects programs.    

Video Journalist

I am an excellent and creative videographer, proficient with most broadcast camcorders and playback machines. I have an excellent understanding of NPAA guidelines and enjoy shooting creative and compelling stories.   I am cool under pressure and extremely resourceful.  I don't miss slot and work well with others to ensure my team is successful.
