An artist/designer out of San Diego, California, Lynne Ruttkay creates designs for the surfing and skateboard industries. Throughout her career, Ruttkay has produced over 5,000 images for t-shirts for international brands and surf shops across the United States. Lynne Ruttkay has designed for Channel Islands Surfboards, K-Coast Surf Shop, and Quiksilver International, among many others. Beyond her connection to the surfing world, Lynne Ruttkay develops products for kids. She wrote a children’s book, aimed at youngsters between 8 and 12 years of age, entitled RV the Racer Aardvark, which earned her a feature in Risen Magazine. A firm advocate of encouraging children to believe in themselves, Lynne Ruttkay travels to elementary schools where she lectures on the 11 principles of character education and ways to teach character through fiction. Additionally, Ruttkay and her son Justin created Eccentric Racing Network, an online virtual world for youths under the age of 13, where she performs as its Chief Executive Officer. The program teaches emotionally empowering lessons and offers games and projects for the entire family.
The recipient of a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of California, Irvine, Lynne Ruttkay continued her academic endeavors by obtaining accreditation as a Character Education Specialist from the University of San Diego Character Development Center. Before becoming a freelancer, Ruttkay served as Art Director for Gordon & Smith Surfboards, Inc., and found an appreciation for the independence and freedom of surfers, which inspired her later in her career. As an artist, Lynne Ruttkay strives to keep current in her skills and techniques in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, and Flash.
