High Lethality Domestic Violence-Victim Advocate

Glendale Police Department

Work with victims of domestic violence, providing personal advocacy, outreach, on-scene crisis intervention, support and guidance, casework and community referrals. Provide and gather statistics for grant writing purposes. Provide crisis response to victims of domestic violence 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Provided case management, crisis intervention/linkage to community resources to parents/caregivers involved with CPS, DDD, and other referring agencies. Helped families become more self-sufficient by providing community resources. Maricopa County Attorney's Office-Victim Services
Worked to reduce secondary trauma as victims participated in the criminal justice system, helped them to effectively exercise their rights, and provided assistance with basic needs. Victim Advocates roles included but not limited to, education, serving as a liaison between the Deputy County Attorney and the victim, providing a support system and providing client services.

Worked with Professor Dr. Stromwall in the research of mental health. Worked to facilitate focus groups and complete literature reviews.
