On March 10, 2012, I passed my licensing exam in order to obtain my LMSW.

Completed two supervised practicums totaling 480 the first year, and 700 the second year.



Volunteer Services

  ACCOMPLISHMENTS             Graduate of Leadership of Reno County, Fall 2006, Completed a community project and           expanded on 21st Century Leadership skills.           Group Study Exchange (GSE) March 2007 Victoria State, Melbourne, Australia                           Nominated as one of 5 team members to participate in a group study exchange through vocational, cultural and educational exchanges geared toward young professional leaders in his/her profession. Participate in 15-20 speaking presentations and embrace the culture through staying in Rotarians’ homes during a one-month stay. Upon the return home, we present to Rotary District 5690 to educate Kansans on what we discovered during our GSE in Australia.     INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE 2011-2012 Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, Hutchinson Community Based Outpatient Clinic 700 Hour Practicum Completion in April 2012: Conducted psychosocial assessments with Veterans, Provided ongoing case management for OEF/OIF/OND Veterans and assisted with the appropriate referral processes both within the VA system and for community resources.   Created a Program Evaluation for Social Work CEUs.   2010-2011 Reno County Communities that Care/St Francis Community Services, Hutchinson. 480 Hour Practicum Completion in May 2011: Facilitate curriculum based seven week courses of Strengthening Families in helping to promote healthy behaviors in families to reduce underage drinking and drug use and to role play love and limit setting in the family structure.      Helped create and propose a universal policy for alcohol and drug use through collaboration within seven different school districts in Reno County to all superintendents.   Helped recruit families and facilitated a Parenting Wisely course with a structured curriculum in networking with other agencies and professionals within the community.   Witnessed and practiced skills and interventions with other therapists for clients whose children have been removed from their home with the mindset and goals of trying to reunite the children with their parents if and when appropriate in the outpatient clinic.   Summer ‘98, Johnson County Community Corrections 240 Hour Internship: Documented each individual client’s progression while on probation, Evaluated and documented interactions between officer and client, Supervised 15 clients for one week, Assisted in writing documents to the Court: Probation Revocations, Reports to the Court, Memos, etc...   Spring 1996 Semester, Reno County Community Corrections 60 Hour Internship: Evaluated Court appearances, Assisted drug testing of clients, Monitored clients’ behavior, Observed surveillance officer visiting clients’ homes    


To obtain a position in the field of human services requiring an effective communicator with excellent counseling skills, a proactive style of management, and the ability to work with diverse populations.



Big Brothers Big Sisters of Reno County

Big Sister (2001-2006) for 5 years—met weekly with a teenager Little Sister, which we still remain in contact.

Big Sister (2003-2011): to 3 Little Brothers in the site-based program. Met with them weekly to assist in schoolwork and currently meet with a second grade boy

Friends in Action (2007-Current) volunteer to a 78 year old who suffered from numerous heart attacks. We meet once a week and visit with one another or I help her with errands.

Board member (2009-2010) for the Children’s Emergency Shelter

Hospice of Reno County (2009)—volunteered weekly for two hours in the Hospice House helping assist patients with terminal diagnosis
