Sands Pointe Restaurant Manager

Ocean Properties; The Resort at Longboat Key Club

As Sands Pointe manager I am responsible for overseeing the cadence of service in the  main restaurant, Sands Pointe, as well as the pool and beach restaurant outlet, Barefoot. As the floor manager I am expected to be a support for associates and touch every table to ensure guest satisfaction. I follow a "manage on the minute" style by coaching associates through service to ensure they are following the fine dining service standards and steps of service. My other duties include weekly forecasting of revenue based on check average and trends from previous years, managing labor cost, managing payroll for twenty associates, and maintaining health and safety standards throughout the restaurant. Over the past year I have been able to really hone my skills and grow exponentially as a front of the house manager.

General Manager

Main Street Trattoria
  • When I moved to Florida back in 2010, I was hired to help open Main Street Trattoria as one of their first hired servers. I have opened restaurants before but this was the most challenging due to the fact that it was a newer company and it did not yet have many policies in place. I worked with the managers to develop training manuals and day to day policies that have helped to keep Main Street Trattoria running smoothly today. When I was promoted to Assistant Manager after only 6 months, I took control of writing the schedule for a staff of 15-20. I implemented daily side work charts and weekly cleaning schedules for the staff as well as a week long training program for new employees. A big part of my job was developing a relationship with each and everyone of our patrons. I make it a point to touch every table that comes in the door. I worked my way up in the company from Server to General Manager in three short years, the title of which I have now held since March of 2012. One of my most rewarding accomplishments during my time with Main Street Trattoria has been when I oversaw the coordination and fundraising for an event we have held in October since 2014, in partnership with Dick Vitale and the V Foundation for pediatric cancer research. We have collectively raised over 25,000 dollars in 2014 and 52,000 in 2015 for the foundation with the sales of tickets, personal donations, and silent auction items. It is an event I am very proud to have been a part of. Overall, these past 5 years have taught me a lot about management. I have grown both as a leader and been humbled at the same time. I only wish to continue learning everything I can as I move forward in my career.

Server/ Bartender

Maggiano's Little Italy
  • As a server, I trained new employees the importance of a great first impression, entertaining the guest, anticipating the guest’s needs, and keeping up morale with clients.

Computer Applications
I have had formal training on Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, as well as having informal knowledge of Macintosh.
I have extensive artistic experience; such as, black and white photography, creative writing, drawing, three-dimensional design, and I can offer an artistic eye to journalism. I am a dedicated craftsman and I am always up for a challenge to further build my expertise.
World Traveler

After graduation I traveled through Europe for 6 weeks on a life changing journey. I feel as though this experience helped to build my confidence to conquer anything and is a skill I feel will follow me the rest of my life.

Alumnus of Alpha Sigma Alpha
As a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha, I learned the importance of community and serving others. Through the sorority I participated in many philanthropic events such as Relay for Life, in which I organized a team that helped raise 1,000 dollars for the American Cancer Society.

Elizabeth Brown

Libby was my manager at Maggiano's. Once she left Maggiano's she became a very good friend and mentor. I have learned a lot from her over the years when it comes to working with people.

Kelly Braselton

When I think about someone who I look up to I immediately think of Kelly. She was a wonderful Manager who was stern but always fair. I feel as though I have learned a lot from her, especially now in my own managing career.

Rodney Millspaugh

Rodney was my general manager at Main Street Trattoria. He is the one who hired me and promoted me to Manager. He acted as a great mentor and taught me what it takes to manage a restaurant. Although he left the Trattoria to pursue other things, he still acts as a great mentor to me.
