Dr. Eliezer Oyola
Former college advisor, mentor
One of the greatest resources and responsibilities that God has given me is my family. My wife Carol and I married in July of 2000. In April of 2005, our first son Eli Joel was born. Then, in June of 2009, God blessed us with the birth of our second son, Aden Shawn.
I exist to love those entrusted to me. I do this by helping, encouraging, equipping, and inspiring others to embrace life and move towards wholeness and maturity. When I am gone, my legacy will be that those my life has touched are healthy in spirit, mind, and body and are helping others to achieve the same.
Currently, I serve at a church with over 700 in average Sunday attendance. While here, I have been on staff serving in the finance and business office. I oversee the day-to-day financial and employee payroll and benefit operations of the church. During my time here, I have also helped launch the 412 School of Leadership to help those wanting to further develop their callings using a mixture of Global University curriculum along with various teachers sharing practical ministry knowledge. It has helped me discover that my gifts, calling, and fulfillment is found by leading people more than merely doing tasks.
I prepared sermons, organized worship services, recruited and trained volunteers, and oversaw the day-to-day operations of the church. I facilitated and led Advisory Team (board) meetings. I have led the church through a name change, recruited staff, and helped the church focus on outreach. Also, I attended weekly staff meetings at a larger church that averages over 700 in attendance providing devotions and advice as needed as well as receiving insight into my leadership development. I also served our state district as a sectional representative (and the only lead pastor) on the youth and children's ministries leadership team.
My wife and I helped to launch a ministry to the 18-35-year-old young adults where the vision was to offer a place where people could belong before they believed. I transitioned as full-time staff in September of 2008. I helped perform pastoral duties during a pastoral transition for our church of 350 and led all the midweek services during that time. I assisted in almost every Sunday morning service in a platform role as well. I led services for young adults and young families. I participated in our pastors' meetings where we discussed vision, direction, and creative elements for our services. I also performed basic office duties while helping with the video recording and online video production for our church.
I worked directly under the owner in managing our two stores. I was responsible for customer service, as well as overseeing the staff. I was also responsible for our accounts payable and receivable, as well as filling out all federal, Illinois, and Missouri tax forms.
I held many ministry positions while I attended Evangel University. Starting as a floor discipleship leader my freshman year leading devotions for my floor, and ending with being the chaplain for all commuter and married students at Evangel where I planned and led the commuter chapel once a month while serving on the commuter leadership council.
Assisted Dr. Eliezer Oyola with the planning and leading of a group of college students on the first ever Evangel endorsed 6 weeks 430-mile trek from Southern France across Northern Spain. I planned the itinerary, set up lodging, and helped with the services each evening.

I have an ISFP personality. However, as you see from the chart below, I have a wide comfort range.
I am taking the necessary courses to serve as an emergency services chaplain to police, fire, paramedics, and 911 center operators.
I completed classes designed to help understand what local police, fire, 911 operators, and paramedics walk through daily. This is to help be a better resource to first responders when they need spiritual and emotional support.
Through the Illinois District's School of Ministry and Global University's online program, I completed the courses necessary for a minister's license with the Assemblies of God.
