Interest

In my free time I enjoy spending time outside in nature, running, listening to music, swimming, photography, reading, and interacting with others.  I love adventurous things and taking risks.  Experiencing life is all about stepping outside of your comfort zone.

Summary

I was born in LaGrange Park, IL on August 10, 1991.  I attended Fenwick High School in Oak Park, IL, where I participated in athletics, math competitions, and the National Honor Society.  I was a member of the Varsity Track Team all 4 years of high school and focused on the 400 meter-dash.  I qualified and participated in the State meet in the 400 my freshman year.  I was also on the Varsity Swim Team all 4 years of school.  I received the Coaches' Award in 2006 and was chosen to be the team captain my senior year.  I started swimming at the LaGrange Field Club when I was 5-years-old and I have been competitively swimming now for the past eleven years.  After high school I moved from Chicago to Waco, Texas, so I could attend school at Baylor University.  I am currently a sophomore.  Other than pursuing a degree in Journalism PR with a Nutrition minor, I am a member of Baylor's Triathlon Club and a member of the Theta Kappa Chapter of Chi Omega.  Chi Omega gives me the opportunity to participate in many Intramural games and raise money to help benefit our philanthropy, the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Team Work

My teamwork skills have had the opportunity to develop through my involvement in various athletic teams, community service organizations, and my sorority.  Being a member of both the Varsity Track Team and Varsity Swim Team in high school gave me the chance to participate in relays and learn how to act as a team player.  I developed close relationships with my teammates and experienced how it felt to honestly rely on others.  Through my involvement in the Ray Graham Hanson Center Jr. Leadership Board, I was given the chance to work with teens my age to raise money for those with disabilities.  By throwing different fundraisers, we collected enough to impact the lives of those we dedicated our organization to.  This brought about feelings of not only success, but also thanks.  Lastly, as a member of Chi Omega I am challenged to uphold our values of sisterhood every day.  As one, we represent a group of women who support strength, integrity, and compassion.  I believe showing not only others, but also yourself respect is one of the most important lessons to be learned in life.

Leadership

When I was in eighth grade I was elected to be a member of my school's Student Council Body.  Ever since that point in my life I have held various leadership roles, including being a member of the National Honor Society, acting as the captain of the swim team, and being hired as the LaGrange Field Club's summer swim team coach.  I am currently the New Member Chair on Chi Omega's Recruitment team.  I try to motivate those around me and maintain a positive environment in all that I do.  I believe that success can be accomplished with hard work and persistence.
