Minored in psychology and graduated magna cum laude with a cumulative GPA of 3.82
Amber Mogle is a dietetic intern and a graduate student in the Food and Nutrition program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her education is very important to her, and she has maintained a 4.0 GPA with her classes at IUP.
Amber has worked in the food service industry for the past 12 years. She has held virtually every position in a restaurant, including cashier, hostess, busser, server, food expeditor, bartender, and line cook. She believes being trained in all the different positions allows her to assist anyone who needs help and to better serve her customers. Currently she is employed at Denunzio's Italian Chophouse where, in addition to serving and bartending, she aids in menu planning. The executive chef has not only realized her ability to properly edit menus, but to add input on ideas for specials. Coming from a Thai background has also made her a valuable resource on specials using Asian ingredients. Furthermore, she has a self-driven love of cooking that motivates her to read and watch anything concerning food.
Amber feels her time spent in the restaurant industry combined with her food knowledge and science background will make her a valuable asset to the dietary world. She also has a personal interest in food and nutrition because she has managed to lose 50 pounds and keep it off for over five years. This weight loss not only directed her interest towards food and nutrition, but has positively changed her life. She is hoping to complete both her dietetic internship and master's degree in 2012. From there, she would like to become a registered dietitian and eventually obtain her PhD.
