Luke Knight

Enthusiastic and professional young man...

About me

Firstly, thanks for your time taken to read my CV. My name is Luke and I am a 21 year old, enthusiastic, motivated and professional young man looking to develop my skills and build a successful career. I'm a positive and proactive person, who loves a challenge and is very sociable. I feel that I have brilliant interpersonal skills and that I am confident communicating with people at all levels, may that be to peers or customers, either in a team role or leadership position. During my secondary school years, I was a member of the Air Training Corps, which taught me many skills that are crucial to the success in any business or workplace. I have learnt to remain focused and self disciplined, which allows me to remain productive under pressure, more prepared and most importantly, more driven. I receive great satisfaction from helping others and working hard, which requires the motivation that can make the difference between a good employee and a great one.

Apprentice Purchasing Assistant

The Change Organisation, John Wilson Park, Whitstable CT5 3QT

The Change Organisation is the county’s largest IT hardware brokership. My duties as Purchasing Assistant included creating the sales teams P.Os, tracking incoming purchase shipments and liaising with the company’s suppliers. This role taught me to deal with a high rate of work flow. From my time there I learnt a lot about office procedures, personal admin and data entry.

Events and Promotions Organiser

Club Chemistry, 15 Station Road East, Canterbury, CT1 2RB

I spent a year working various day and nights as Event/Promotions staff and a bartender at Chemistry, Canterbury’s largest and busiest nightclub. This role required high levels of self organisation and efficiency. I worked closely with my peers in a very active environment, working quickly and accurately, whilst maintaining high standards. Sadly, this work was unpredictable and inadequate for me to continue with.

Cashier and Back Office

HSBC, 9 Rose Lane, Canterbury, CT1 3JP

I worked as a cashier in HSBC, undertaking a challenging and interesting role. Working with money and confidential customer information needed me to follow a strict set of procedures, rules and regulations, which also meant I gained a lot of experience in the handling of paperwork and files. A main part of my job was delivering the best customer service possible, offering advice and alternatives. Working in the bank has given me valuable experience in professional conduct.
