SUMMARY

My passion for new technologies and platforms has been given me exposure to a large range of projects, impacting Motion, Digital and – most recently - OTT graphics. I also have an eye for Photography, and a strong sense of Branding that has been explored on Internal company and Customer-facing Marketing Campaigns to instill and elevate individuals’ experience in branded environments. In that sense, my experience with multi-media has helped me when designing for large-scale graphics applied to Studio TV Sets, office space, vehicles and more!

As a hybrid designer, I enjoy being in a fast-paced environment, with skills to multi-task and supervise other artists if necessary. I get excited about new products that need a brand and identity and I am avid to find visual solutions to strategies in question, working effectively with Creative and Marketing Leads, respecting their vision and deadlines. Many times, these aligned ingredients granted me opportunities to blow my managers' expectations and even win awards!

Senior Designer

WSB|TV - Cox Communications

Core responsibilities:
Works closely with Marketing and TV News leads to impact TV graphics, Promos, Social Media, OTT as well as Marketing campaigns.

Accomplishments:

- TV Studio Set Makeover: Key contributor to WSB's Studio Set large scale monitor graphics and Duratrans. Launch of new look also relied on a vast creation of Chyron templates I designed and implemented to showcase News daily and special content. I also designed Augmented Reality graphics for Weather Presentation. This was our AR debut using WSI's technology and support.
- Internal Branding Campaign: Designed large scale graphics to cover extensive walls of WSB's building. Refreshed WSB's brand by use of dynamic graphics and photography allied to a rich color palette that reflected the fast-pace environment and intensity of TV business. The branded walls elevated employees' experience and created opportunities for TV shots,  Backgrounds for Promos as well as Internal Events. It also provided niches for visitors to take selfies in front of their beloved brand!  I am also responsible for the designs wrapping WSB's high-tech Weather vehicle: Storm Chaser 2 and News truck.
- Social Media and Digital Platform - Avid contributor to graphics for Twitter, FB posts,as well as  development of OTT screen graphic elements and show packaging.

Design Director

Core responsibilities:

- Key contributor to Marketing and Promo teams, developing  concepts for Keyart, based on campaigns' vision and strategies. Worked with Broadcast, Digital designers and Marketing leads to approve concepts that were then applied to motion, digital and printed graphics material.

Accomplishments:

- Worked directly with VP of Design, implementing major network redesign in 2013. Worked with Creative Director and Trollback agency in NY, in the roll out of Severe Weather show properties; Primetime promo packaging toolkits; live-action talent IDs showcasing a deeper view of network impact on all platforms as well as studio makeover. Coordinated graphics overhaul by managing design implementation, branding  photography, style-guides and graphics server for new and retired graphics assets re-organization.

- Avid contributor to TWC's internal branding campaign "It's Amazing Out There" and AMHQ. Designed  graphics for hallway walls and building facade, as well as premiums for customer-facing campaign. Designed newspaper ads, compelling promos and art directed a microsite developed to inform The Weather Channel community about the network programming changes, revealing the new design through essential branding elements.

- Refreshed The Weather Channel area at the Fernbank Museum. Applied on-brand photography, coordinating internal and external approval processes with Fernbank partners for implementation.

Art Director of TV and Branding Design

Core responsibilities:

- Designed and managed a small-type-agency within the TV team (4 designers), taking requests from Live and Long-form TV Programming content leads, Digital and Cable Marketing, Digital content, Ad Sales, Promos, HR, PR, Executive and Financial Team, etc.

- Worked directly with the VP of Design and art directors by pitching concepts, creating storyboards and show packages (2D and 3D motion graphics).

- Delegated jobs and communicated look and feel through the use of storyboards, style-guides and regular face-time, check-ins with artists.  

- Participated in control room QC to ensure optimal performance of network graphics before air. Improved communication of graphics release to control room and tv producers per regular meetings to go over projects updates.

Accomplishments:

- Improved data visualization and on-air presentations of Tropical Coverage 2010: created a toolkit of logos, transitions, info-frames, banners, widgets and map elements. Art directed artists and meteorologists about proper use of toolkit in the creation of graphics development in TruVu Max and Vizrt, through style guides, under hurricane expert’s supervision and demands.

-  Appointed by VP of Design to take part in the A-team, with dependable artists who worked and delivered graphics across all design platforms, from tv to digital, during hurricane coverage for Isaac and Super-storm Sandy.

- Created concept and led out-of-house execution of the AM Shows Redesign, Hurricane Season 2011 and Weather Center Live, raising production value of network packages across the day.

- Designed network's core franchises, 2012:  Global Forecast Center, Winter Storm Central, Severe Storm Central, Tornado Central and Hurricane Central.

Broadcast Designer - Project Manager

Core Responsibilities

- Worked closely with creative director,  managing a team of 5 designers that supported live programming.

Accomplishments:

- Led strategy with Marketing for logo and graphics packages for all Stunt Weeks: Why I Love Spring, Why I Love Summer, Why I Love Fall, allowing time and lots of opportunities for Ad Sales.

- Designed: "Winter Olympics 09", "Green is Universal", "Impact TV", "Outdoor Chef", among other show packages, delivering graphics to Edit, Branded Programming and Control Room (Opens, Transitions, Lower thirds, etc) and sent PDF with graphics' releases to Production and Control Room operators.

- Created templates for graphics in Viz Weather and Viz Content Pilot by learning Transition Logic, Graphics were tested in control room prior to launch, minimizing errors on air.

- Became main contributor of the Design server organization. Coordinated meetings with Engineer and Design Team Leads to discuss and establish a new and efficient server hierarchy, improving file searching and sharing, as well as projects' delivery and archival.
