    Initially hired for a temporary position, teaching an intensive TOEFL preparation course and soon after earned a permanent, full-time position. Was charged with instructing visiting scholars from Asia, South America and Europe in weekly one-on-one lessons. Most of the private students with whom I worked extended their contracts with the Berkeley school, some for a full year after their original sign-up date. Given consistent positive evaluations from students in both Test Preparation and Business English classes. Offered an afternoon Business English class in 2011, which continued until my resignation; taught the intensive TOEFL course for its duration. Often stepped in to assist the school with substitute lessons or temporary assignments, Organized and conducted professional development workshops, and regularly led student outings.

     Planned and taught conversational English lessons for Japanese and foreign exchange university students. Gained distinction for creating and implementing innovative lesson techniques and materials to compliment and coincide with the WUI Tutorial English textbook. This led to the use of my video-taped lessons as instructional and training material for other teachers in the Tutorial English program. Highlights from my lessons were also included in various informational and promotional materials for the University. Chosen to teach online writing courses and intensive courses, including a newly established intensive business English class. Part of a team of proofreaders and editors who worked on new textbook editions for the Tutorial English Department. Gained recognition for excellency and efficiency in my work in a variety of  audio and video projects, including textbook narration, audio dialogue for course books, video lectures and other supplementary classroom materials and research projects. Consistently given high ratings for my daily written class comments and mid-term and final progress reports. Achieved the highest instructor rating; as a result was granted the right to observe my own lessons for annual evaluations, without supervision. Was also selected to represent the Tutorial English program for a number of recruiting events for prospective students. Received positive reviews from students in feedback reports every semester.

    Quickly became the most-requested instructor at the Fujigaoka Nova School in Nagoya. Gained the ability to effectively teach, plan and manage classes for a diverse group of students of varying skill levels, ages, backgrounds, and goals. Having no previous experience, I accepted the challenge of teaching children of all ages in order to assist Nova's growing children's program. Was appointed Kids' Program Coordinator soon after, providing support and assistance to the kids' teachers at Fujigaoka School in Nagoya. In addition, was given business, TOEIC and TOEFL classes, including  weekly group TOEFL courses. Conducted demonstration lessons regularly for  prospective adult and child students, and consistently had the highest rate of new student sign-ups

    Involved in virtually all aspects of Gallery operations during its most progressive and prosperous years in business. Successfully negotiated commissioned projects and contracts with artists. Assisted in the development and organization of regular exhibits, openings and educational events. Personally responsible for the handling, storage, packing and display of consigned and purchased artwork. Played an essential role in the Gallery's emergence as a respected source for arts and crafts and artist representation through scrupulous efforts in consultation, sales, customer service and public relations.

    Worked as part of a two-person team to assist attorneys in arranging appropriate conference room facilities, food and beverage service for various meetings and events. Coordinated billing for accounts receivable, and generated reports and documents for the Service Department. Supervised and oversaw maintenance of all audio-visual equipment. Assisted in transferring all Conference Center planning and billing management onto computer software. Provided office support for clients and attorneys, as needed.

    An avid reader, I am drawn mostly to non-fiction and literary classics. In my spare time, I enjoy writing articles, poetry;  and song lyrics. All aspects of visual and performing arts are of interest to me.  I am very concerned about  health and physical fitness; I try to stay active and informed about healthy choices.
