Countries visited: traveled to every state of Australia, China (2006), Malaysia (Numerous times), Spain (2005), France, Ireland, Scotland and Whales (2003), England (2003 and 2004), Indonesia (1995, 2004), Thailand (1996) and Singapore (Numerous times), India (2008). Also have traveled extensively throughout China. 


Lidia Sakarapani travelled to Beijing in 2006 to conduct research into the PR and Media industries in China as part of her commitments to the PRIARoyce Fellowship she won the year before while studying at Curtin University of Technology, Perth. Before travelling to China, Lidia worked as the Project Manager for the Global Village on the Move conference hosted by Curtin University in partnership with Lehigh University, USA.

In Beijing she began workingas the PR & Events Director at China’s most prestigious private business club where she organised an array of social, political and business events which hosted some very high profile speakers and China experts. From there she joined Omega, Official Time Keepers of the Olympics, the biggest sponsor of the Beijing Olympics, as a Project Manager of the Omega Greater China Program.

At the Games she led a team of over 60 local staff and managed a hospitality and cultural program for Omega’s ambassadors and VVIPs from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

She is an accomplishedphotographer and her work has been amongst a series of photographs published in a book called “One Night In Beijing”, a commemorative book celebrating one night in Beijing exactly one year before the 2008 Olympics.

During her studies in Perth, Lidia was President of the Curtin University Public Relations Student Chapter and student representative on the Board of PRIA WA. She completed a double degree majoring in Public Relations andChinese Mandarin.She speaks English, Spanish and Chinese.
