To use my skills as a Certified Paralegal in a law office, using the knowledge I have gained in my career to assist the attorney or attorneys in continuing to grow their practice and represent clients to the best of our ability.

I have worked over 12 years as a Paralegal and am a Certified Paralegal with the American Alliance of Paralegals, Incorporated.  I received my Paralegal Certificate from Sonoma State University.  I have worked approximately 11 years in Family Law, assisting attorneys in preparing restraining orders, custody, visitation and support motions, working with the Department of Child Support Services, case management, opening and maintaining client files, monthly billing statements for clients using TimeSlips and Chaos, processing payments to client accounts, preparing deposits for banking, setting up and maintaining Quickbooks for multiple bank accounts, setting up and maintaining client trust accounts along with attorney, monitoring and backing up of the server for office network, and calendaring all court appearances using Abacus.  I also worked 4 years in Civil Litigation, while working in Family Law, assisting the attorney with preparing for trials, status conferences, case management, opening and maintaining client files, monthly billing statements using TimeSlips, processing payments to client accounts and handling accounts payable and calendaring all court appearances as well as calendaring dates for responsive documents.  I have also worked in Criminal Law.  I was responsible for opening and maintaining client files, preparing documents to file with the Court and DMV as required, calendaring all Court appearances and document response due dates using Amicus.  I am familiar with Legal Solutions, Martin Dean's Essential Forms, DissoMaster, Word and WordPerfect, Abacus, Amicus, Any Time Deluxe and Stamps.com.  I have also designed and maintained websites for some of the law offices using Wordpress and Dream Host.  I have also designed my own blogs using Wordpress, Wix and Host Gator and have current blogs for both Family Law and Paralegal's.

Assisting in preparing restraining orders, custody, visitation and support motions, preparing Dissolution documents from the initial filing to the final judgment, working with the Department of Child Support Services in relations to child support orders, case management from opening and maintaining client files, to closing the files.  I was responsible for calendaring all court appearances, preparing attorneys for trial, coordinating with judicial assistants as needed and working directly with clients regarding their matter.

I worked approximately 6 years for Ms. McCausland, assisting her in preparing restraining orders, custody, visitation and support motions, preparing Dissolution documents from the initial filing to the final judgment, working with the Department of Child Support Services in relations to child support orders, case management from opening and maintaining client files, to closing the files and sending them to storage and maintaining the storage records, monthly billing statements for clients using TimeSlips, processing payments to client accounts, preparing deposits for banking, setting up and maintaining Quickbooks for multiple bank accounts, setting up and maintaining client trust accounts along with attorney, monitoring and backing up server for office network, and calendaring all court appearances using Abacus.  I was also responsible for maintaining and ordering all office supplies and coordinating office equipment repairs as needed.  I calendared all court appearances and document filing due dates using Abacus and maintained all dates in paper format as well, as required.  I updated all software as needed, including TimeSlips, Abacus, Martin Dean's Essential Forms, DissoMaster, Stamps.com and Microsoft Word.

I began working for Mr. Spiegelman in the Internship Program with Sonoma State University to obtain my Paralegal Certificate.  Mr. Spiegelman hired me directly out of the Internship Program as his Paralegal and I was responsible for opening and maintaining client files, preparing documents to file with the Court and DMV as required, calendaring all Court and DMV Hearing appearances and document response due dates using Amicus.  I was responsible for deposits, applying payments to client accounts and monthly billing statements using Quickbooks.  I continued to assist Mr. Spiegelman with projects since leaving his employment on an as needed basis until 2010.

I worked approximately 4 years in Civil Litigation, assisting Mr. Young with preparing for trials, status conferences, case management, opening and maintaining client files, monthly billing statements to clients using TimeSlips, processing payments to client accounts and handling accounts payables and calendaring all court appearances as well as calendaring dates for responsive documents to be prepared and filed using Any Time Deluxe.  I was responsible for maintaining all office supplies and for preparing and taking all documents to the Court for filing.  I was responsible for updating all software programs as necessary.  I continue to work with Mr. Young assisting him as needed for trial work, depositions and pleading preparation.  I also continued to do Mr. Young's monthly billing statements for his clients until the closing of his office in approximately 2009.

I was responsible for collections for 7 dealerships in Sonoma County.  I processed and represented in Court over 200 small claims cases.  I was responsible for the collection of judgments using all legal avenues available, including skip tracing, writs and liens.

Website Design and Maintenance

Designed and maintained website for Law Office using Wordpress, GoDaddy and Dream Host.  Designed and maintain my own website and blog using Wordpress, Host Gator and most recently with Wix.  I have also designed websites for family and friends using the above.

Software Uploading and Maintenance

Responsible for uploading all software necessary for the Law Office and updating as necessary.  Programs include, Word, Wordperfect, Abacus, Amicus, Anytime Deluxe, Stamps.com, DissoMaster, Legal Solutions, Martin Dean's Essential Forms.
