Career Highlights

WHITE PAPER

"Credit Unions and Small Business"

Researched and authored by: Lori Syverson

I presented key findings at the Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, DC. This research resulted in coverage in major financial institution media outlets. Please see "Credit Unions and Small Business" under the Published Works tab.

DESCRIPTION: As the economy was heading into rocky waters, many small to medium size credit unions began to look for additional sources of revenue. This white paper recommended a foundational strategy all credit unions could utilize to establish a small business program which traditionally was not a focus for this sector. The white paper brought visibility to the small business opportunity while offering solid recommendations to establish a new program.

RESEARCH & TRENDS

As part of my role in segment marketing I was responsible for analysis of market data, demographics, psychographics and industry information to recommend new product development. It is important to anticipate the trends and have marketing programs available ahead of the curve and tailored to individual client needs.  The Young adult segment program is an example of anticipating the need for a marketing program specific to this audience and pulling together an "off-the-shelf" program that provides all of the necessary components for financial institutions to immediately implement this program. Please see the Young Adult Segment Overview under the Marketing tab.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING & TRAINING

Exciting and energizing marketing programs can not reach their full potential if staff are not properly trained and can speak to the product or service. In additional to developing the marketing program, I created and presented the training programs that correlate with the marketing programs. I presented these programs and training sessions either in-person or via webinars. Please see the small business under the Marketing tab.

PROFIT AND LOSS ANALYSIS TO DRIVE REVENUE

Many self-funded employers were experiencing dramatic increases in their mental health and substance abuse treatment costs. Through custom review of each employers health care cost analysis, the implementation of an employee assistance program dramatically reduced their costs while providing expanded services to employees. Please see "Integrating EA in Managed Care" under the Published Works tab. This article also provided additional positive public relations to CNR Health and began to establish CNR as a national subject matter expert.

PUBLIC RELATIONS AS A VITAL PART OF THE BUSINESS STRATEGY

The use of television, radio, print media, news releases, freelance writing and development of a speaker's bureau can bring visibility to the company that money can't buy. Please see "Clan Sauce" under the Public relations tab. These articles were placed in area publications as a result of news releases and direct relationships with the media.

DEVELOPMENT OF RETAIL AND MAIL ORDER FOOD DIVISION

Added over half a million dollars in net income by developing and spearheading the creation  of the retail and mail order food division of Albanese's Inc. Please see the mail order brochure and products labels.

OFFERING

CORPORATE

My ability to increase revenue and positive exposure for an organization is based on my use of progressive and innovative strategies in marketing and research. An ability to develop a vision, achieve consensus and deliver results in a wide variety of corporate and nonprofit settings is facilitated by my experience in management, strategic planning and analysis. I am a driver and champion of transformational programs- able to gain executive and board sponsorship, build internal support at all levels and create cross-functional teams that deliver exceptional results.

PUBLISHING

With more than 20 years experience in television, radio and print journalism my work has been published in several regional and local magazines and newspapers.

While working as marketing director for a group of psychologists and social workers, my interest turned to the study of relationship psychology.  I gained recognition for research in male/female platonic relationships making personal speaking appearances as well as appearing on television and radio talk shows.
