Objective

To find a work environment in which I can serve populations in need.  Ideally, this would be an environment directly involved in education, support services, or career placement.

Summary

I have most recently spent five years working as an educator in public middle and high schools.  I have taught English, language arts, reading, Read180, and state test remedial courses to various grade levels.

As of this fall, I will be returning to school to pursue my Master's degree in library and information science with an emphasis on school librarianship.

Before I taught, I worked in several busy law offices.  I was responsible for client care, data entry, file clerking, receptionist duties, and very detail-oriented duties in preparing client documents for legal use.

These above jobs coupled with my education and teaching background give me a very unique set of skills.  I am proficient in major office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.  I am experienced in communicating with all types of people for all types of reasons.  I am great at organizing people and supplies and keeping order in any environment.  Last but not least, I am very experienced in working with young people, especially those in special needs and at-risk populations.
