Kansas City Royals Baseball

Responsible for leading the Kansas City Royals Baseball franchise through a re-engineering process that enabled the system to become a more proficiently managed and readied for new ownership.

  • Served as Lead Project Director for $12M stadium-construction project between October 1998 and March 1999  baseball seasons that was completed on time and under budget while overseeing 45 subcontractors working on various phases for project completion.
  • Negotiated sponsorship / staff contracts and stadium lease agreements; served as liaison / point-person between Organization, Jackson County Sports Authority, and Missouri State Legislation.
  • Reduced personnel cost $575,000 by instituting hiring procedures that focused on core

    competencies, title bands and performance-based management. Decreased the number of outsourcing projects in administration and installed an accounts receivable system.
  • Guided the functional areas of finance, information technology, marketing, human resources,

    stadium operations and sales (season, group, daily ticket sales) through the process of assessing

    the cost of doing business.
  • Collaborated and Communicated with Board of Directors to ensure operations aligned with Corporate objectives and action plans.
