My career in medicine began 30 years ago when as a teenager I volunteered five days a week at Logan Regional Hospital newborn nursery. After obtaining my nursing assistant certification in 1986, I worked as a CNA in a skilled nursing facility while attending nursing school. I entered the medical transcription profession in 1989 and have since worked for many of the largest medical centers across the country, documenting patient records for every medical specialty.I began freelance writing and editing in early high school and continue to do freelance editing and writing in paid and volunteer positions. In 2003 I enrolled at Utah State University with a full scholarship. I continued to work in transcription part time while attending classes full time. I graduated in December 2008 with bachelor’s degrees in English/Professional and Technical Writing and in Psychology with minors in biology and business management.
I am now looking forward to a position where I can put my skills and experience to use and make a significant contribution in the corporate environment.
