Lisa Poursine has served as an associate with the Law Offices of Bohdan Neswiacheny in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, since 2010. In this capacity, Lisa Poursine undertakes a wide range of duties including the research of case law, statutes, and secondary sources in support of court motions. Ms. Poursine also drafts and responds to pleadings, letters, motions, and discovery requests. A particular area of her focus is in assisting employers seeking compliance with state and federal employment laws as well as in summarizing depositions related to cases in insurance, employment, and construction. Ms. Poursine earned her B.A., cum laude, in Government from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She subsequently pursued a J.D. at the University of Florida Levin College of Law in Gainesville, graduating cum laude in 2002. She also gained distinction as best oralist in the Justice Campbell Thornal National Moot Court Team in a competition that was judged by the Florida Supreme Court. Upon receiving her J.D., she undertook an LL.M. in Labor and Employment Law at the New York University (NYU) School of Law. Prior to graduating in 2004, Ms. Poursine earned the NYU Presidential Service Award. Upon graduating from NYU Law, she received the Seymour Goldstein Memorial Prize for academic excellence in the area of labor relations. From 2005 to 2009, Lisa Poursine held responsibilities as a Staff Attorney with the Litigation Department of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York. In addition to supervising attorneys contracted by the firm, she undertook document reviews and productions. Ms. Poursine notably performed pro bono work for clients in administrative and court proceedings. Additionally, she was seconded to The Legal Aid Society’s Civil Litigation Unit in East Harlem for a few months. Ms. Poursine is also an actress with experience in film and theater productions. She is a graduate of The William Esper Studio’s two-year Professional Actor Training Program and notably served as Assistant Producer for the short film Tick-Tock.
