Local H&R Block Leader Honored At National Conference
Las Vegas – Lisa Millard, an H&R Block Division Marketing Manager from Montclair, NJ, has been presented with the company’s Block Hero Award. Lisa was honored for donating a kidney to a co-worker’s daughter. Alice Dillon of Merrick, NY, successfully received the kidney donation in September 2007. Alice is the daughter of H&R Block tax professional Martin Dillon.
“When H&R Block says ‘We got people,’ we mean it, and our communities are stronger for it,” says Bill Birkins, vice president and managing director. “We’d like to honor H&R Block heroes -- leaders in the field who have performed selfless acts.”
The presentation was during H&R Block’s U.S. Tax Services National Conference in Law Vegas on October 16, 2007.
At the conference, Millard met with H&R Block executives, such as Mark A. Ernst, chairman, president and chief executive officer, to discuss H&R Block’s products and strategy for the 2008 tax season, including bank accounts tied to the H&R Block Emerald Prepaid Card for free, and the H&R Block Easy IRA and Easy Savings Account.
