Lisa Jay is the Director of Dance & Department Chair of Performing Arts at Laguna Beach High School. She holds a Master’s Degree in Dance and a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre, with Dance Emphasis. Ms. Jay has taught in New York at Broadway Dance Center and is on Faculty as a Guest Teacher at Millennium Dance Complex in Studio City, CA. Her career spans stage, television and the world of live entertainment. Ms. Jay has choreographed for and performed in numerous industrials, such as Ford Motors, Compaq Computers (Sting’s World Tour Kick-off), Shell Oil, Dr. Pepper,Chevis Regal(with the late Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award-wining Marvin Hamlisch), AT&T, IBM, Oldsmobile, American Express, etc. Television credits include ABC’s Lost, MTV’s DanceLife, NBC’s Jake and the Fatmanand ABC’s Life Goes On. Television commercial credits include RC Cola, Gloria Vanderbilt Shoes, Macy’s, 7-11 Storesand, Walgreens. Theatrical Choreography Credits include A Chorus Line, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Aladdin,The Only Dance There Is, A Midsummer Nights’ Dream, andGrease. She has danced with New York Motion, the Ken Molina Dance Company, and the late Abe Weinstein’s Cotton Club Revue. Ms. Jay is an accomplished Hawaiian dancer, and was a featured soloist in Al Harrington’s Polynesian Revue, has danced in concerts with famed Hawaiian musical duo The Brothers Cazimero, and even taught hula to the late Tony award-wining Thommie Walsh.
