About Me

A talented project manager and executive assistant, Lisa Axelrod has a wide variety of experience in business and marketing. She began by establishing her own event-planning business in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, which she ran successfully for 18 years. Since then, Lisa Axelrod has held a number of positions in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, with a strong emphasis on film production and social media platforms. In her most recent position, Lisa Axelrod served as both Production Supervisor and Executive Assistant to the Director at SoCal Filmworks Inc., a film production company located in Los Angeles, California. As a production supervisor, she oversaw everything from concept work to the final stages of editing and postproduction marketing and distribution. At the same time, Lisa Axelrod managed the director’s busy schedule, arranged meetings, maintained correspondence, and fostered strong internal and external relationships.Prior to her work at SoCal Filmworks Inc., Lisa Axelrod lived in Hawaii, where she functioned as a Program Director for Temple Emanuel in Honolulu and the Director of the University of Hawai’i at Manoa’s Hillel. Working for these two nonprofits developed Ms. Axelrod’s fundraising skills and her ability to effectively market via the Internet. She exceeded her fundraising goals for Temple Emanuel by 10 percent and increased its membership by 15 percent through outreach campaigns. At the University of Hawai’i, Lisa Axelrod taught grant writing yearly to a class of 15 students, and secured funding for numerous student activities, including the Honolulu International Jewish Film Festival.Lisa Axelrod worked behind a camera for many years herself, and since 1986, she has been a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). She also participates in professional associations for business members and was a past member of the Better Business Bureau and the Cleveland Council of Smaller Enterprises. In addition to film, social work plays a large role in her free time. She has volunteered with People Assisting The Homeless (PATH), Habitat for Humanity, and LA Voice, a Los Angeles women’s shelter. Other ventures she has volunteered for include Community Supported Agriculture and 5P21, an HIV/AIDS outreach project. She combines her love of film with her passion for social work by volunteering for Women In Film (WIF), a nonprofit organization that helps women achieve their highest potential in the field of professional entertainment. Lisa Axelrod currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
