Possessing more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry, Lionel James Casey works as a financial planner. He spent the early portion of his career as a Banking Center Manager with NationsBank, a retail bank located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. An alumnus of the University of Florida, Lionel James Casey also attended Nova Southeastern University. He currently uses his extensive knowledge of finance to play an active role with a variety of nonprofit organizations and altruistic causes. He contributes to Riverwalk Trust, which was created to fund projects in the community around the New River in Fort Lauderdale. The group’s undertakings include park enhancements and programming, general management, and capital improvements. Lionel James Casey also volunteers with the Broward County Gator Club, an affiliate of the University of Florida Alumni Association. The organization awards at least 15 $1,500 scholarships each year to students in the community through the volunteer efforts of Casey and others. Working in conjunction with other local businesspeople, Casey participates with Young Professionals for Covenant House as well. Established in 1992, the organization has raised more than $1.7 million for homeless youth in the region. He also volunteers with the Fort Lauderdale Bus Loop Charities.An avid offshore fisherman, Casey maintains a steadfast commitment to preserving marine wildlife in Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas. To that end, he belongs to the International Game Fish Association, which promotes and teaches people ethical fishing practices. He regularly travels throughout Bimini, Green Turtle Cay, and the Bahamas to pursue his passion for angling.
