I have been a teacher in the public school sector for the last 12 years and a CDCR GED teacher for the past 6 months. I will be an exceptional part of any academic setting because of my extensive training with common core standards and the various teaching tools that I have acquired throughout the years.

As a Migrant Specialist I:

  • create ILP's (individual learning plans)
  • These ILP's include student test scores, their GPA, possible recommendations for tutoring or summer school.
  • I ensure students are up to date on vaccines
  • If students do not have health insurance I direct parents to proper place for obtaining health insurance.
  • Ensure students are not in crisis when it comes to food, clothing or shelter home visits

This was a six week program that was funded by the Migrant Education Program in the Calexico Unified School District.My duties included:

  • Teaching English Language Arts to Incoming 8th graders.
  • Assisting Math teacher while she taught pre-algebra
  • Teaching Reading to students at different levels
  • Teaching Writing at different levels
  • Teaching different components of poetry
  • Reading Novels
  • Teaching Art through creative thinking
