Involved in the real estate business for more than five decades, Lew McGinnis owns and works as a real estate investor in Nicholls Hill, Oklahoma. He began working when he was only eight, when he sold eggs door-to-door, and then at 14 he created a business refurbishing produce boxes. After selling the business when he was 16, he formed several corporations, including a small loan company as well as Mac McGinnis Autos. At the age of 22, Lew McGinnis left the auto business and ventured into real estate investing involving land and apartment complexes.
Through Credit Finance, another one of his companies, Lew McGinnis purchased several apartment complexes in Phoenix, Arizona, which led to his becoming involved in real estate. Since he began investing, he has owned and operated more than 100,000 apartments and properties, including the 160-acre Williams Center located in Tucson, Arizona, where numerous businesses and offices reside. At one point, he was the largest single multifamily owner and operator of Alaskan apartments.
An active philanthropist, Lew McGinnis held numerous leadership positions, particularly at the Methodist Church. In his 20s, he was head of the education area, president, and chairman of the trustees at his local church. He also went to the Arizona, California, and Hawaii Conference for the church as well as received special appointments by Bishop Tuell.
