As president of the Auckland branch of the largest international student-run organisation I am responsible for all of AIESECs activities at my university. I lead a team of 7 people that I selected for the period of one year. My team is truly multi-cultural, it is comprised of individuals from 6 different nationalities, and collectively we speak 11 different languages. Facilitation and Training

In my roles as Vice President Talent Management and President of AIESEC Auckland I routinely train, deliver sessions and facilitate learning amongst my colleagues. In January 2009 I attended AIESEC China's National Conference as a guest facilitator.

Strategy and Process Development

Over the last 4 years I have attended 15 conferences through AIESEC Auckland where I took part in strategic and operational planning for our organisation.   I have also developed specific organisational processes with extensive documentation in my roles as Vice President Talent Management and President of AIESEC Auckland.

Team Leadership

Over the last four months I feel I have been able to develop real team leadership. I began my team leader journey early in 2009 when I selected the team I would work with for one year. Before our roles officially started I attempted to create team cohesion and direction. Overcoming many challenges I have learned that an effective leader must listen carefully and then form a strong stance in the direction that must be taken. A leader must think of his team first and be flexible to their needs and the needs of a changing environment.

Design

I am a designer by necessity. I design when I cannot accept other options.   Recently I designed logos, business cards and labels for my parents cafe logos, flyers, posters, and web-pages for a new programme we launched in AIESEC Auckland flyers and posters for various events and programmes in AIESEC Auckland I use Adobe Photoshop, Apple Pages, and hand-typed CSS for Design.

Cross-cultural Management

I currently lead a team of 7 individuals from 6 different cultures. I deal with cross-cultural issues in a practical setting every day. I have also volunteered in a completely different culture - China - and studied in another different culture - Spain.
