Blood Drives/Public Speaking/Earth Day Event Coordinating
In early July 2010 the 3rd annual "Leslie Gives Back" blood drive will be held in Tujunga, CA. The event has been growing and is quite succesful, getting some press and more donors each year This is an event that I started and conitnue to promote. I'm also initiating a blood drive for July 31, 2010 in Palmyra, PA and plan to have that also be a yearly event. As a leukemia survivor, I have spoken to groups about the importance of giving blood and stressed the significance of donating to organizations like the Leukemia Lymphoma Society so that treatments can become available like the treatment that cured my disease. I have also assisted in various Earth Day celebrations by planning activities at the event for children to participate in, and finding financial contributors for the various projects I created.
