About Leonard Cash

As a family court administrator for the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada, Leonard Cash directs the family court. He leads the court that has 20 district court judges, 10 hearing masters, and around 240 staff members. Reporting directly to the presiding judge of family court, Leonard Cash regularly advises family court judges on financial, administrative, political, and juvenile justice matters.

Since starting this position in 2009, Leonard Cash has mentored managers and administrators to assist the family court, provided counsel and support to the family court’s security committee, and worked with the CEO to develop ongoing cost-containment plans to prevent layoffs. In addition, he helped a family court judge to secure a $600,000 grant from the Department of Justice to expand the court’s truancy diversion program from 50 to 75 schools.

Leonard Cash received his BA in psychology and MSW with a clinical practice focus from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he served as the student body president of the MSW program and received recognition as 1994’s graduate student of the year. He subsequently obtained his PhD in organization and management from Capella University.
