Split USA

Worked as an intern for the Juniors Dept at Split during the entire summer of 2008. I designed various shirts for the Spring 2009 and Summer 2009 collection. Along with my own designs, i also helped my supervisor with any tasks such as recoloring the designs she created, creating print matrices for any given shirt design displaying three different colorways. I also spent a lot of time preparing the final graphic and CAD files for the print compnay and for catalog production. I was able to work closely with both my supervisor and manager of the Juniors Dept of Split.

University of Virginia

Spent the semester of Fall 08 sailing to 10 different countries. Attended classes on the ship when not in port. Participated in the Semester at Sea work study scholarship program as an IT Assistant to the shipboard computer lab when not in class. Participated in various field excursions within the country as well as planning independent trips throughout the countries.

What I am All About

Growing up in the Greater Los Angeles area turned out to be the best thing ever because everything was so close to me. The beach, the city, but most of all -- the mountains. I spent a lot of my high school years taking trips to and from the mountain, because after that one day out on the snow, in jeans, snowboarding for the first time, I knew I was hooked. Snowboarding led to skateboarding and now, no matter what season it is, I have some sort of board in the back of my car.

High school was spent taking science classes and prepping for a career in the biology field. All of a sudden I had Photoshop and Illustrator on my computer and found myself staying up late at night creating website designs for my friends and their blogs. Really simple stuff, but this turned out to be the beginning of finding my second passion.

My time in college was spent half in the classroom and half on the mountain. I've never stopped snowboarding and skateboarding and over the past 3.5 years I have been making moves to combine my two passions: boarding sports and graphic design. I am constantly on the search to expand my skills both on and off the snow and believe me, I can take the hits as they come. Persistence is clutch and I am not afraid of a challenge.

I have also spent 4-5 months traveling (from late August 2008 to mid January 2009) and I can now say that I have literally been around the world. I have visited over 14 countries, some of which the culture has been driven by action sports such as Namibia (sandboarding) along with South Africa (surfing) and Japan (snowboarding).  I would love a career that combines my two passions of design and action sports in a location out of the states.

My goal is to start a career that combines my two passions of graphic design and action sports. I am seeking an internship or a regular position as a graphic designer in any action sports industry to expand my skills and gain experience within the action sports industry.
