Leanne Mead is a freelance photographer who born and raised in Flagstaff, AZ. She attended college in Phoenix, AZ with the original intention of studying philosophy. After taking a few classes in school and working for the university newspaper, Leanne found her life’s calling as a photographer. Leanne enjoys taking portraits but her real passion is for taking photographs of nature and of her surroundings.
One of Leanne’s great interests is traveling, and over the years she has had the opportunity to visit many places across the U.S. It is during these trips that she feels most alive and finds the most inspiration for her photography. Her favorite part of the country, though, and the one she considers the most beautiful is still the Southwest, where she grew up.
In her spare time, Leanne enjoys swimming, fishing, biking, hiking, camping and canoeing- just to mention a few things. She loves all things outdoors and is an avid bird watcher and animal lover. She volunteered at the Wildlife Rescue for over a decade and worked parttime for a local Animal Shelter for many years.
In addition to photography, Leanne enjoys many other creative pursuits including painting, pottery, and writing poetry. She released a complilation of her poetry titled “Many Rivers” in 2005 and is presently working on a second. She enjoys reading her poetry aloud to friends and in public any chance she gets. Leanne currently lives with her four dogs and two cats in the foothills outside Albuquerque, NM.
