Real estate professional Mindy Saffer leads a busy life as a Principal at West, Lane & Schlager Realty of Washington, D.C., and as a full-time mother of three children. Mindy Saffer of Gaithersburg, Maryland, has worked in the Washington, D.C., commercial real estate industry for upwards of 24 years, during which time she has completed more than 500,000 square feet of real estate transactions in her current position alone. Mindy Saffer specializes in working with nonprofits and trade organizations as a Tenant Representative, a role in which she handles renewals and renegotiations of existing leases, negotiations of new leases, and sales of office buildings. Mindy Saffer currently represents several high-profile Washington-based organizations. Prior to joining West, Lane & Schlager, Mindy Saffer operated as a Marketing Consultant for numerous real estate related companies, including a commercial interior architecture firm and an office relocation company. Mindy Saffer’s expertise in the real estate industry runs the gamut from knowledge of space programming and planning to proficiency in interior design and of code issues related to ADA, fire, life, and safety compliance. A LEED Accredited Professional (AP), Mindy Saffer applies her familiarity with “green” construction and systems to aiding her clients in finding efficient office buildings that promote employee health and environmental sustainability. A graduate of the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins University, Mindy Saffer broke through the glass ceiling at West, Lane & Schlager, earning the company’s Rising Star Award in 2004 and being named the Top Producer at the firm for several years running. Mindy Safer, who was the first female broker at West, Lane & Schlager, was also the first leasing broker promoted to Principal of the company. Outside of the office, Mindy Saffer enjoys snowboarding and riding motorcycles during the right season. Some of her favorite activities include watching her children play sports and taking her family to the beach. In the past, Mindy Saffer has contributed her time and resources to the American Lung Association and to Christ House, a homeless shelter in Washington, D.C.
