Microsoft Excel

Mostly self-directed computer usage, and always attempting to learn new things. Learning Microsoft Excel for classes was also fairly important, as well as for possible job opportunities. Fairly useful when writing up a spreadsheet based on a project.

Desktop Publishing

Class explained the basics of how to make a document look good enough for presentation, or printing. Allowed for clearer designs, better appearance, and assisted with showing off ideas.

Manual Machining

Learned how to use mills, lathes, drill presses, welders, and band-saws. Quite a bit of practice using a lathe.

CNC Programming

Operated, and programmed for a CNC machine, making several parts. The parts were wooden pieces, with the G and M code written by hand. There wasn't much in the way of assistance, aside from the visualizer program the class allowed us to use.

This program is certainly different than SolidWorks, or AutoCAD. Learned quite a few of the basics, still much to go. Takes a bit of time to get going, can use if necessary.

Descriptive Geometry (CADD)

Was able to draw up plans by hand, learning the techniques necessary to draft without a computer. It was entirely about designing parts, no architecture. It took much more time, than when using a drafting program.

Designed, and built scaled down models of house floor plans we made. While interning at Golden Malted, made multiple plans for the facility from measuring it by hand.

Completed courses in SolidWorks over the past years. Had experience ranging from making individual parts, to building larger objects using pieces found, designed by myself.

Took multiple AutoCAD courses in High School, and College. Completed the required AutoCAD courses for college already.

Carbon's Golden Malted

Designed inventory layouts, safety map, created a floor plan for the facility, and a suggested layout. Gathered various drafting files the library was missing. Did not always have vendor name, product numbers to simplify it. Worked for about a month, the term of the internship.
