Public Relations Responsibilities/Accomplishments:   

  • Wrote and edited press releases highlighting newly released offerings, news-related authors, partnerships, special events, and newly appointed executive leaders

Marketing Manager

After being with GoTriangle for over a year, I was promoted to Brand and Marketing Manager for Triangle Transit, Durham Area Transit Authority (DATA), and GoTriangle.

In addition to the responsibilities that I had as Marketing Coordinator, I also lead the marketing team in the following: 

* Manage all three transportation brands and increasing brand awareness through tradition and social media outreach

* Create and execute yearly behavioral change campaigns like the SmartCommute Challenge and Try Transit Week

* Maintain editorial calendar and overall strategy for social media outreach; encouraged exploration of new platforms within the transit industry

* Work with the five local transit agencies and up to 15 other transportation  organizations to engage and reach target audiences (i.e. major employers, choice riders, stakeholders)

* Coordinate media relations for GoTriangle including coverage for events like GoLive launch, SmartCommute Challenge, and Dump the Pump day.  

* Manage $100,000 budget for advertising campaigns in efforts to increase knowledge of sustainable transit options in the Triangle and to increase ridership for local transit agencies

* Write yearly $1,000,000 grant narrative for transportation demand management programming

* Manage and supervise a four-person team including the graphic designer, social media associate, marketing associate, and video marketing associate.

  • Implemented social media strategic plan for GoTriangle including creating and maintaining the Facebook® group page which has over 500 active members, creating the GoTriangle blog and supervising the blog team editorial schedule

Program/Campaign Responsibilities:

  • Oversee GoPass program, employer transit subsidy pass, including collateral creation, including case studies, posters, bus placards,  and marketing campaign to promote the GoPass program and commuter benefits to employers, highlighting pre-tax benefits;

  • Plan and execute annual motivational commuting campaign, SmartCommute Challenge

  • Plan and coordinate events for Car Free Day and Dump the Pump campaigns

Partnership Relations Responsibilities

  • Coordinate seamless marketing with 15 regional stakeholders

  • Coordinate participation among stakeholders and municipality bike/pedestrian committees for Smart Commute Challenge, Try Transit Week, Bike to Work Week, NCGreen State Fair exhibits and student-targeted events.
