Laurel Blond left her career in occupational therapy to begin selling insurance at the Maurice Blond Agency at the request of her father. She quickly became an expert in the agency’s insurance products and started participating in New York seminars intended to educate insurance agents. Today, Blond has more than 25 years of insurance experience to her credit, and she speaks passionately about insurance in many public forums. In 2010, she was welcomed into The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America’s President’s Council, which recognizes productive members of the insurance community. The Maurice Blond Agency offers life, health, long-term care, and disability insurance to a number of influential New Yorkers.
Blond and her husband, Rabbi Leib Tropper, live in Monsey, New York. Tropper earned his education from several institutions, including the Rabbi Jacob Joseph School, the Talmudical Yeshiva, and the Yeshivas Torah Ore. He spent several years studying in Jerusalem, where he received four semichas. Tropper returned to the United States to begin serving as the Educational Director of Ohr Somayach.
Leib Tropper and Laurel Blond are deeply involved in various outreach programs in the United States and abroad. She also regularly helps to connect people with doctors through a medical referral agency. Before joining her father at the Maurice Blond Agency, she served Massachusetts General Hospital as Head of its Department of Occupational Therapy for five years. She studied occupational therapy at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and then earned a Master’s degree in Education from Harvard University. In her free time, she enjoys pursuing several hobbies, including dancing, drawing, and antiquing.
