Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities is a residential school for gifted and talented Indiana high school juniors and seniors.  While there, I taught American Literature, World Literature, Creative Writing, Junior Colloquium, and Senior Colloquium.  I also met with students during office hours, assisted with production of school plays, and chaperoned many of the annual trips to the Stratford Festival in Ontario, Canada.

At the Center for Women and Returning Adults at Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne, coordinated Life After Divorce and Women’s History Month public service announcements for television (1992-1993). Student announcer at Indiana Public Radio (2002-2007).  Established organizational system for underswriter announcement copy.  Interviewed and recorded listener testimonials.  Assisted at Indiana Public Radio events, including pledge drives, All Things Chocolate bake-off, and An Afternoon in the Vineyards wine tasting and auction.  

Project Management and Supervision

At the law firm of Steele, Ulmschneider and Malloy, initiated, implemented, and supervised training on a new, Windows-based computer system.  Interviewed, tested, hired, and trained new secretarial staff. Organized the Practical Criticism Midwest conference at Ball State University in 2002 and 2003. Served as the 2008 Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities’ liasion for the Muncie area National Endowment for the Arts Big Read.  Coordinated the distribution of books to Academy students and their attendance at Big Read events. Supervised students in dorms and on trips to the Stratford Festival (2004-2008).

Theatrical Work

Assistant director for Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities’ one-act plays in 2008 (Aria da Capo, The Sandbox, and Sganarelle, or the Imaginary Cuckhold).  Sewed and fitted costumes for all three shows. Sewed and fitted costumes for Muncie Civic Theater’s 2008-2009 productions of The Skin of Our Teeth and Our Town. Sewed and fitted costumes for Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities’ one-act plays in 2010 (The Ugly Duckling  and Sganarelle, or the Imaginary Cuckhold). 

Desktop Publishing

Designed advertising fliers and program for the Practical Criticism Midwest conference at Ball State University in 2002 and 2003.  Designed, edited, and wrote parts of the travel booklet for the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities’ annual trip to the Stratford Festival, Stratford, Ontario, Canada (2006-present).*   Designed and wrote the program for the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics and Humanities’ 2008 production of one-act plays (Aria da Capo, The Sandbox, and Sganarelle, or the Imaginary Cuckhold).*  Designed and co-wrote program for Muncie Civic Theatre’s 2008 production of The Skin of Our Teeth.*  Designed and edited the travel booklet for the Art Association of Henry County’s 2010 New York Theater Tour.* *Digital copies are available upon request.
